An Improved Overmodulation Strategy for a Three-Level NPC Inverter Considering Neutral-Point Voltage Balance and Common-Mode Voltage Suppression

The three-level neutral-point clamped voltage source inverter (3L-NPC-VSI) is widely used in the maglev traction systems due to its high output voltage, large capacity and low current harmonics. In order improve utilization of DC-bus an overmodulation strategy necessary. This paper proposes improved based on minimum amplitude error method for a 3L-NPC-VSI. Compared with conventional method, higher. Meanwhile, virtual space vector modulation adopted (NP) balance common-mode (CMV) suppression. Furthermore, suppression leakage also has been verified. implementation details proposed elaborated. effectiveness verified by simulation experimental results.
